Our Lady's is a fully inclusive school where the well-being and progress of all of our children is important.
Through a rich and varied SEN programme we support children and their families so that school is a rewarding and enjoyable time.
We have a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants who work alongside class teachers to provide a bespoke curriculum to meet the needs of the individual child.
Our commitment to SEN means we have a non-class based SENco to oversee this work.  We have excellent relationships with outside agencies including; educational psychologists, speech and language specialists, behaviour support workers, occupational therapists and visual impairment advisory teachers.
Along with high quality teaching we offer a range of interventions designed to promote accelerated progress.  These include;  Speech and Language,  Thrive, Small group Maths and English sessions,  Nessy Reading and Spelling, Reading Recovery, Fun fit and Sensory Programmes.
For further information about SEN at Our Lady's please read the report below.
A key approach to the school's support of our children and their families is THRIVE.
Through THRIVE we aim to support the social and emotional development of our children.  In particular the THRIVE approach helps us support children in a targeted way who may have struggled with difficult life events, so that they can re-engage with life and learning.
The school has two dedicated Teaching Assistants who co-ordinate our THRIVE work.  Children will either work 1:1 or in small groups.  All classes have whole-class THRIVE targets with look at improving social and emotional resilience.
