The Summer term is our busiest term. We have new children who join us as they become 2, or 3 and we have our 3 and 4 year olds who are getting ready to move on to their next stage of learning. Our children have such an advantage for starting school, they know the environment, the adults and the routines before they start in September. More information will follow regarding transition visits and so on.
We are very inspired by the whole school Talk for Writing project. Our work so far has made a massive impact on the children. They remember the stories we have done. There are phrases that are common to both stories that they use regularly. Their memory and learning skills have been boosted by this approach.
Goldilocks and the three bears is our current story. We will help this story come alive with many exciting activities. Continuing with our classic tales we are taking part in a Giant Wiggle for charity, with a hungry caterpillar theme.
After the half term break we are excited to be taking part in a whole school art project. Our creative efforts will be displayed in the whole school open evening. There will be lots of fabulous things going on.
Our fun music and PE lessons will continue, and we will have a science week in May where we will be investigating light and colour, as well as getting out in our outside environment and looking for bugs and all manner of minibeasts.
