1st June 2017

I am delighted to announce that from September an outside caterer called Chartwells will be providing school dinners for our children.  They are a company with years of experience in this field and currently they are providing school dinners for many schools across Plymouth CAST.

Myself and Mrs Morris have visited a local school and sampled the meals and they are of a very high quality.  We have the ability to create a bespoke menu so we will be working with Chartwells to ensure the popular meals were currently offer will not be lost.

We shall be continuing with our family service as this is a wonderful aspect of our dinner time.  Children will be served by adults or older children.  This is a great opportunity for adults and children to spend time together and for children to learn good table manners.  It also allows us to encourage children to eat those green vegetables they may not always be keen on having!

We are currently in the process of recruiting a new Kitchen Manager.  Mrs White and Mrs Kirkby will be staying on in their current roles.

From September the cost of a school dinner will be £2.30. This will no include access to a daily salad bar and fresh homemade bread.  All meals will be made daily on the premises.   If your child is in KS1 then you can take advantage of the Government’s Universal Infant School Meal Plan, where all children are provided with a FREE school dinner.  We will continue to offer a jacket potato and vegetarian option.

If your child is currently in KS2 and in receipt of a free school meal (FSM) nothing will change for next year.  If your child is not in receipt of FSM but you feel they may be entitled to then please contact the office on 01271 345164.
